What is the Kiwi Art Trail?
The Kiwi Art Trail is a collection of 20+ kiwi sculptures that have been turned into bespoke pieces of art by talented New Zealand artists. Brought to you by Gallagher Insurance and Save the Kiwi, the Kiwi Art Trail is a free, family-friendly public art trail for all to enjoy.

Where can I see the Kiwi Art Trail?
In 2023, Auckland played host to the inaugural Kiwi Art Trail. This year, the Kiwi Art Trail will visit four locations around the North Island. Watch this space to see if the Kiwi Art Trail will be visiting your corner of New Zealand.

How long has the Kiwi Art Trail been running?
2023 was the first year Gallagher Insurance and Save the Kiwi presented the Kiwi Art Trail.

Who are the artists?
It’s still a bit of a secret, but they’re a collection of well-known and up-and-coming New Zealand artists from around the motu. In each location, there will be an opportunity for local artists to get involved too.

I’m an artist. How can I get involved?
Most sculptures have been already allocated to artists. However, there will be opportunities for local artists to participate in the trail at each location. Follow Kiwi Art Trail on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date.

I’m a business. How can I get involved?
While the Kiwi Art Trail showcases kiwi conservation and some phenomenal artists from around the country, the event couldn’t happen without the support of our sponsorship whānau. Click here to find out how your business can get involved.

What happens to the sculptures at the end of the trail?
When the trail ends, all sculptures will be auctioned and proceeds will be donated to kiwi conservation.

If I like a sculpture, can I buy it?
There will be an opportunity for members of the public to purchase a sculpture at the end of the trail. Follow Kiwi Art Trail on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date.

Can I win anything?
Last year, Bev from Kaitaia won an exclusive visit to the Gallagher Kiwi Burrow where she got up close and personal with some kiwi chicks – simply by voting for her favourite sculpture on the Kiwi Art Trail.
